The pedestrians will not have to walk in between the moving vehicles on the double road . They can freely walk on the footpath and allow the the traffic to move freely as well. "Oh, ooh, not in Chintamani!". That could be your immediate response. Wait and watch. Where there is a will(power-of police) there is a way. Few more obstacles have to be cleared, for that the shop owners on the double road will have to cooperate with the authorities. It's not impossible though- with this gritty approach. CC had written about the Double road initiative by RAGE, which now seems is not a distant dream. The Chintamani police have taken a drive to relocate the street hawkers on the Double Road to the market area near-by. Their agenda is to clear the footpath for the pedestrians. Super Police!
